It’s important that you sense how I processed the kind, thoughtful, meaningful gestures you made during this campaign. In some fashion of your own making you sent me positive messages at times when it meant the most. I appreciate everything you shared that said I was responding appropriately in one way or another.

Your wink ’n’ nod at functions, thumps up as you recycled, requests for lawn signs, endorsement letters, your wave ’n’ toot on my workout jaunt, encouraging notes, and calls have nourished this experience. Through your positive energy, I have walked my daily journey toward what I believe is best for you and Maine. Your positive, honest expressions steadied the course in my quest to serve you!

I value and respect the process that gave you a choice in who represents you. For me, that journey to earn your trust is as important as the destination of serving you! I will remember everything! I have saved every positive expression in a special place where they can’t be tarnished. When I needed your feedback, you were there for me supporting what we value together. Throughout my race, I adhered to this guidepost: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”!

I believe that I, as well as my opponent, lived that.
