For several years now SAD 6 staff members have participated in the Relay for Life, an 18-hour team walk to raise money for cancer. This year prior participants wanted to bring the event closer to home in hopes of encouraging even more of fellow staff to participate. A miniature version of the event was held recently on the BEHS track with the time being trimmed to two hours after school.

Staff members gathered pledges and/or donations and in exchange promised to walk in rain, sleet, or high water! All pledges and donations went to Relay for Life which, was held June 3 and 4 at Falmouth High School. Some of the Bonny Eagle participants walked in both events. The Bonny Eagle collective donation of almost $5,000 was sent to Relay for Life/The American Cancer Society. The local event was organized by eighth grade teacher, Ethel Atkinson.
