GORHAM – Showcasing local products and services, the 14th annual Gorham Marketplace is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday in the Costello Field House on the Gorham campus of the University of Southern Maine.
“Every year thousands of shoppers visit Gorham Marketplace to eat, enjoy local talent, sign up for vendor prizes, receive cost savings on show specials, and have a chance to win cash prizes raffled during the day,” said Dede Perkins, executive director of Gorham Business Exchange, which sponsors the event.
Admission is free and there’s abundant free parking. A Gorham Recreation Department van will provide shuttle service from parking lots to the show arena.
The family-oriented event features more than 80 booths, along with entertainment, demonstrations, food and children’s activities. Two cash drawings will be at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Boy Scouts are opening and closing the show with flag ceremonies and Girl Scouts will sell cookies. Gorham High School Robotics Team will exhibit its latest creation. Demonstrations and entertainment includes The Dance Studio of Maine, Greater Portland School of Jukado, My-Fit-24, and Moody’s Collision Center.
In public safety highlights, Gorham Fire Department will display its smoke trailer and Gorham police will have a cruiser on hand.
“The Price is Right” game returns, while LifeChurch in Gorham will host plenty of fun for children with two bounce houses.
Perkins said the food court would be in “full swing” with Gorham House of Pizza, Amato’s, The Gorham Grind, St. Joe’s Coffee and Sebago Brewing’s Beer Garden.
“Should be a fun, busy day,” Perkins said.
