Oct. 6: Community meal from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Christ Chapel, 37 Northern Pines Road near Crescent Lake in Raymond. Food will be continually served, so come anytime. The meal will consist of harvest treats including roasted turkey with all the fixings. (A sugar-free dessert will be provided for those with dietary restrictions.) Cold drinks, coffee & tea. Oct. 7: A benefit dinner for Lucille Warren will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Windham Veteran’s Hall (behind Hannaford in Windham) Adults are $7; Children under 12 are $4. Homemade lasagna, baked beans, cole slaw, tossed salad, bread, pies and cakes will be served. Sponsored by family and friends.

Oct. 7: Mystery Dinner Theater, “Karaoke Killer” by John Mann at 5 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 988 Roosevelt Trail, Route 302, Windham. Menu to include tropical glazed ham with rice, vegetables, and dessert. Tickets are $15. FMI 892-3769 or 655-2547.

Oct. 7: St Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bridgton Annual Turkey Dinner. Scrumptious dishes along with turkey, stuffing and gravy will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bridgton United Methodist Church. Dinner costs adults $8, children $4, under 3 free. Proceeds assist with outreach programs that St. Peter’s sponsors locally and internationally.

Oct. 7: Republican Women for Change Forum. State Senate candidate Lani Kelly and County Register of Deeds candidate Donna Chapman will lead the forum with special guest speaker Charlotte Woodcock, wife of the governor candidate. Takes place from 10-11 a.m. at the Little Meetinghouse. FMI, 892-7301.

Oct. 11: Southern Maine Volkssporting Association regular meeting at 7 p.m., at Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main Street, Westbrook. Guest Speaker will be from Full Circle Synergy School of T’ai Chi and Ch’uan speaking on T’ai Chi and Acupressure. The next event will be Saco Bay Trails walk on Oct. 15. Starting point is Saco Community Center, 78 Franklin St. Saco.

Oct. 13, 14: Harvest of Quilts, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Windham Hill United Church Of Christ, 140 Windham Center Road, Windham. Antique and contemporary quilts and other items, displayed in a historic setting. Quilt Raffles, Merchants’ Mall, proceeds to benefit the Capital Campaign Building Fund, $5 donation, handicap accessible.

Oct. 13-29: Schoolhouse Arts Center presents Greater Tuna, a comedy by Jason Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard, directed by Keith Halliburton. Friday/Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults, and $12 for students/seniors. FMI and reservations call 642-3743.

Oct. 14: KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Baked Bean Supper, 5 to 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Windham. Baked beans, ham, macaroni & cheese, Italian bread, cole slaw, coffee, milk & punch, and desserts. $6.50 for adults, $3 per child 12 or under. Don Levesque will provide music.

Oct. 14: FALL CLOTHING SALE, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hollis Elem School Cafeteria, Route 35 Hollis, across from the Municipal Center. Hundreds of new clothes from Wal-Mart including underwear and socks for everyone in the family. Halloween candy, masks, decorations, and make-up. Everything still 25 cents. Oct. 16: Rabies Clinic 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Sebago Lake Congregational Church, Route 35 in Sebago Lake Village. $8 per pet, cash only. Dogs must be on leashes, cats must be in carriers. Bring previous rabies certificate . Sponsored by the Standish Veterinary Hospital and the Standish Animal Control Officer.

Oct. 30: Windham Cancer Support Group. Adults diagnosed with cancer and adult cancer survivors are invited to attend.
