Through July 18: New Gloucester photographer Cally Peaco exhibits at Auburn Public Library a series entitled, “Lady Working in the Milkhouse, Farm and Reflections.” The display is in the Androscoggin Room at the library located at 49 Spring St. The library is open Monday-Saturday. An opening reception is June 10 from 4-7 p.m.

Saturday, June 28: Fizz Pop Boom! Mad Science presents a jaw-dropping hands-on science program at 7 p.m. at Spaulding Memorial Library, Route 114 in Sebago. Free fun for the whole family. For more information, call 787-2321.

June 28: The Hawthorne House Association in Raymond holds its annual Strawberry Festival from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Hawthorne House at 40 Hawthorne Road. A program of speakers features brief introductions to three other community organizations: Raymond Village Library – Sally Holt; Raymond-Casco Historical Society – Frank McDermott; Hawthorne Garden Club – Elissa Gifford. Following the talks the best homemade strawberry shortcake available (beverages included) will be served. Your donation of $10 ($5 for those 8 and younger) helps to maintain this historic house. The Hawthorne Association receives no government or grant funding – it is all done by volunteers. Reservations are recommended to ensure seating and to help us plan adequate amounts of shortcake. June 28: Coinciding with Poland Spring Preservation Society’s Heritage Day, Poland Community Church UCC will hold its 40th Strawberry Festival on the grounds of The Inn at Poland Spring, Route 26, Poland. Come enjoy the delicious strawberry treats from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many other local groups will offer activities, foods and awareness tables.

July 3: The Bridgton Public Library will hold its annual Spaghetti Feast from 5-7 p.m. at Stevens Brook Elementary School in downtown Bridgton. The menu includes spaghetti with meat and meatless sauce, fresh locally grown greens, bread, coffee, lemonade, sun tea, ice cream and lots of homemade desserts. Tickets are available at the door and cost $8 for adults, $4 for children 3-10. Children under 3 are free. Highchairs are available. The supper is held just before the Bridgton Community Band Concert and fireworks, which are also at the Stevens Brook School. All proceeds benefit the library programs.

July 9-Aug. 13: Standish: Vacation Bible School takes place Wednesday evenings from 6-7:45 p.m. beginning from July 9 to Aug. 13 at Standish Congregational Church, Oak Hill Road. Sunday, July 13: Raymond Village Library Annual Book Sale kicks off from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This is a great opportunity to add that special book to your collection or to find an interesting novel to read at your convenience. The prices are low and the choices are great. The sale will continue through August.

July 18-19: Always the third weekend in July, this year’s 36th edition of Sebago Days event takes place from 5-10 p.m. on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, from noon-10 p.m. in the town of Sebago. Activities range from musical entertainment, food, a parade, fireworks, a fun run and even laser tag.
