Fuel and general assistance

From November 14 through 17, PROP will be accepting general and fuel assistance inquiries at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Windham. Those who have received assistance in the past will get notice in the mail of how to apply again.

Stoking up the old woodstove?

If you haven’t used your woodstove in awhile, here are some helpful hints to make sure you burn safe this winter:

– Check to make sure your flue is working properly and always open where you burn wood

– Get stove and chimney cleaned before season and after season

– Get stove and chimney checked out by professional

– Watch out for close proximity of flammable material

– Dispose of ashes far away from house and garage and flammable material and make sure they’re extinguished
