Ms. Sarah Milleville’s homebase at Bonny Eagle High School, Room 229, recently won first place in the homebase fund-raising Penny Drive for Camp Sunshine located in Casco.
The total amount raised by this homebase was $93, all in coins. Money raised was collected from all the homebases at Bonny Eagle High School by the Future Business Leaders Association members who sponsored the Penny Drive for a week and a half in the month of October.
The club awarded certificates, photo recognition, and an ice cream social to the winning homebase that could donate the most change. Their donation in the amount of $93 along with other homebase donations and a small business donation came to a total of $542.
Camp Sunshine has been offering a cost-free getaway to children nationwide and worldwide battling life-threatening illnesses and allowing their families time away from the financial and emotional problems that can destroy the joys of day-to-day living. This amount raised will cover half the cost of a family to attend for a week.
The following Room 229 homebase students are: Sara Buzzell, Dale Cabral, Payton Curtis, Marcus Graffam, Monica Henckel, Zachery Huntley, Eric Leighton, Sarah Mitchell, Nicholas Munson, Christian Thibault, Sabrina Welts, Elise Wilcox, Michael Williamson, and Jenna York. The homebase advisor is Sarah Milleville.
