GORHAM – Andrew Wojtal, a Gorham native, performed Sept. 6 at the MTV Video Music Awards with pop singer Taylor Swift.

Wojtal took dance lessons and trained at the Dance Studio of Maine in Gorham before graduating from Gorham High School in 2007. He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from The California Institute of the Arts, where he majored in performance and choreography. He was recently awarded the the Dance Fellowship from the Princess Grace Foundation and is a Company Member of Body Traffic in Los Angeles.

Wojtal, who resides in California, continues to visit his native Gorham and the Dance Studio of Maine through out the year where he teaches Specialty Workshops.

“We are very proud of Andrew,” said Trish Moulton, owner of the Dance Studio of Maine. “He continues to inspire the dancers at the Dance Studio of Maine. “
