Cape Elizabeth battled six other schools in the early meet at the University of Southern Maine on Friday afternoon, the 15th. While the Gentleman Capers earned second in the melee, their Lady counterparts finished sixth. Greely took first on either side of the action.

“All in all, a great meet,” said Cape head coach Doug Worthley, before happily naming some of his outstanding performers and their accomplishments on the day. “Mac Huffard turned in his best mile run of the season. Jacob Budischewsky turned in great runs in the 400 and the 4×200 relay. Mat Concannon improved his 200 qualifying time, and Ethan Avantaggio showed his mettle in the 200 as well.”

On the girls’ side, Worthley said, “Liv Palma turned in a decent two-mile run, despite falling at the start. Sam Feenstra PR-ed. Megan Nicholson and Fiona Simpson both PR-ed in the 800.”
