I would like you to run a training announcement for a State of Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (IFW) Boating Safety Course being held at the Gorham Parks & Recreation (5/3, 5/10 & 5/17). The following is a press release for this course:

“Boat owners, boat operators and everyone planning to spend time on the water in Maine are encouraged to sign up for and participate in a free boat safety education course offered through the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. This free course is sponsored by the Gorham Parks & Recreation and provides an important and potentially life-saving review of boating laws, regulations and instruction on safe and attentive boating.

The course will be taught by State certified instructors and include the following topics: boating and equipment, safe operation, navigation, rules of the road, laws and legal requirements, emergencies and cold water survival, and invasive aquatic plant issues. The course will be held at the Gorham Parks & Recreation, 75 South Street, Gorham, for three (3) consecutive Thursdays starting May 3, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

All students must attend all sessions to be eligible to take the final examination. Those successfully completing the course will be awarded a certificate of completion and material for future use.

To register, contact the Gorham Parks & Recreation, 839-5034. Anyone under the age of 18 must have parental consent on the State of Maine registration card. Those under 12 years of age must have an adult attend the classes with them.”

Thank you for considering my request.
