Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies responded to Gray-New Gloucester High School Monday afternoon after staff discovered a handwritten bomb threat in the girl’s bathroom.
According to Capt. Don Goulet, the school was evacuated at about 1:50 p.m. Bomb detection dogs from the Maine State Police and Portland Police Department were called in as a precaution to check the school. Nothing was found.
“Deputies and detectives will continue to investigate leads and when apprehended those responsible will be prosecuted,” Goulet said. “Those involved face felony charges and costs associated with the evacuation and investigation.”
