View tax bills online
Gorham tax bills for 2015-2016 are available online by visiting the town’s website. www.gorham-me.org, and click on the “Tax Information” link found in the “Where do I go for?” section.
Taxpayers should read information printed on tax bills. According to the online notice, a taxpayer has an option of paying the entire amount by Nov. 15 or in two installments with the first payment due on Nov. 15 and a second payment due May 15, 2016.
Cancer support
group to meet
The Gorham Cancer Prayer and Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Cressey Road United Methodist Church, 81 Cressey Road, Gorham.

Lions serving Gorham
Ken Aldrich, membership chairman of Gorham Lions Club, said it has marked its 10th year placing more than 100 U.S. flags on utility poles in Gorham.
The flags go up annually before Memorial Day and are taken down in October.
“Some of the Lions are war veterans, as well, and know that the flags mean so much to everyone, veterans and non-veterans alike,” Aldrich said in an announcement.
The club sponsors scholarships for Gorham High School students, new eyeglasses for the needy, and youth activities in conjunction with Gorham Recreation Department. In December, Lions will sell Christmas trees to raise money for charitable giving.
Lions meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month in the Lions Den, 414 South St. For more information, contact Aldrich at 298-9182 or email kenaldrich@aol.com.
Seniors’ schedule
Lakes Region Senior Center meets from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and on Fridays starting at 10:30 a.m., at Little Falls Activity Center, 40 Acorn St., Gorham.
Activities include socializing, puzzle table and bocce ball, along with coffee or tea. The seniors center will be closed on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 12.
USM faculty
in jazz concert
The University of Southern Maine faculty concert series continues at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, in Corthell Concert Hall on the Gorham campus.
The concert features vocals with Taylor O’Donnell and the Faculty Jazz Ensemble; Bill Street and Barry Saunders, saxophones; Chris Klaxton, trumpet; Christopher Oberholtzer, trombone; Gary Wittner, guitar; Bronek Suchanek, bass; and Les Harris Jr, drums.

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reported on Sept. 24 that the U.S. public debt was $18,151,073,031,331.50.
