Portland Water District trustees Jamie Willey and Eileen Wyatt cut a ribbon signifying the grand opening of 1,700-acres of water district land known as the Sebago Lake Land Reserve last week. Trustees were joined by district officials, area town officials and local representatives at the ceremony. Reversing 100 years of land closure, the opening of the property means the public is now invited to use the water district’s land for recreation. Nine new kiosks, like this one shown above, are located throughout the property for land-users to sign in when they are on the property. Check with District officials to see which activities are allowed at 774-5961. ATV use and campfires are among prohibited uses. Courtesy photo
