GORHAM – The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is holding its 4th annual 5K Fugitive Run in Gorham on Saturday, April 28. Proceeds from the 5K road race will benefit the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League (PAL).

The road race will begin at 10 a.m., with runner registration starting at 8:30. The run will begin and end at the Gorham Municipal Center, 75 South St. in Gorham. The kids fun run will begin at 9:30 from the same location. There will be a display of public safety vehicles onsite for those who do not choose to run. Office will be collecting old prescription medications for the Drug Take Back Event

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office PAL program helps fund various youth athletic organizations and teams. As well, the money funds four scholarships to graduating seniors from Cumberland County who have excelled in sports and academics, and are planning to attend college or trade school. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office donates approximately $10,000-$15,000 each year through events like this for Cumberland County athletics.
