Joanne Vance celebrated her birthday March 16. She enjoyed the time with family and friends.

Safety Class

A Hunter Safety Class will be held at the Windham Public Library on Saturday, April 7 and Saturday, April 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You must attend both days to receive your certificate. The instructor will be Phil Guimond and the cost is $5. Space is limited to the first 40 applicants. Call the Town Clerk’s office at 892-1900 to sign up.

Reunion

The Windham High School Class of 1987 is having their 20-year reunion this summer and is looking to reconnect with those people whose address is not up to date. Book Club

The Book Club at Windham Public Library will meet March 27 to discuss actor Sidney Poitier’s autobiography, “The Measure of a Man.” In addition, in honor of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s 200th birthday, some of his poems will be read and participants will share their thoughts. The public is invited to join the library’s book club at any of their regular monthly meetings.

Historical Society

People interested in Windham history are invited to attend the next meeting of the Windham Historical Society on Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m. at the old Town House, Windham Center Road. A brief business meeting will be followed by a program and free refreshments. The public is welcome.

Visitor

Elsie Haskell had visit from her friend, Althea Lloyd, recently. She was down here for two months from Smyrna Mills, Maine and stayed with her daughter in Westbrook.

Reminder

Don’t forget to visit the Windham Public Library before April 20 to view the display of NASCAR memorabilia belonging to Travis Emerson. He got interested in NASCAR by watching races on TV and going to the races at Loudon, N.H. wih his father. There are 85 NASCAR matchbox cars on display as well as several items representing the #8 car of Dale Earnhart Jr.

Birthday

Chloe Allen, Connemara Creek, daughter of Kevin and Kathy Allen, celebrated her 4th birthday March 13. There were two family parties, and her grandmother made her a “Princess Cake.”
