Nomination papers for the Nov. 3 municipal election in Cape Elizabeth are available at the town hall on Ocean House Road and are due back to the town before 4 p.m. on Sept. 4. Three seats on the Town Council and three seats on the School Board will be up for election.
Jessica Sullivan, Jamie Wagner and Jim Walsh now hold the available seats on the council. John Christie, David Hillman and Kate Williams-Hewitt now hold the available seats on the School Board. All seats are for three-year terms and are set to expire Dec. 10, 2018.
A five-year seat representing Cape Elizabeth and South Portland on the Portland Water District Board of Trustees, held by John Brady, is also up for election.
Nomination for the Portland Water District Trustee must also be completed in South Portland. Papers will be available July 30, and due back to the South Portland clerk’s office before 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.
Between 25 and 100 signatures from registered voters are required to be nominated for office. Each candidate in Cape Elizabeth is also encouraged to contact the town clerk prior to erecting political signs as the town’s sign ordinance limits the size and placement of signs.
Elections in Cape Elizabeth will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3 in the Cape Elizabeth High School gym from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information contact town clerk Debra Lane at 799-7665.
