Dancers to perform in Macy’s parade

Nine student dancers from Drouin Dance Center in Westbrook have been invited to perform in the 2014 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

They will join 600 selected dancers from around the country and perform with Spirit of America Productions in the parade in Herald Square on Thanksgiving Day. The dancers will travel to New York City for Thanksgiving week and take part in rehearsals with Spirit of America Productions, tour the city, take in a Broadway show, and watch the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes.

“We are very honored to have been selected a second time for this event known all over the world,” said Danielle Drouin, owner and director. “Six of our dancers performed in the 2011 parade and had an amazing experience. The hard work of all of these dancers earned us another invitation, which we are very excited about.”

The students have begun extensive fundraising for their trip. Those wishing to contribute or help with fundraising should call Drouin Dance Center at 854-2221 or email drouindancecenter@yahoo.com.
