Meeting
The Rebekah Lodge #71 will meet at 7:30 p.m. October 19 at the Odd Fellows Hall. There will be a presentation by the District Deputy to tell them the wishes of the Assembly President for the year. The new trustees are Paul Carro, Josie Morrell and Marge Hansen. This will be the first meeting of their new year.
Concert
The Senior Pilgrim Fellowship of the Windham Hill Church are hosting a concert October 22 in the Windham High School Auditorium from 7 to 11 p.m. They have four outstanding bands that will be alternating 20-minute song sets. The four bands are: “My Property” featuring young musicians from Windham Middle School; “RGP” composed of seniors from Windham High School; “Selfless Delicacy” with John Sood, the lead singer/songwriter and “Moksha” a group from Tufts University including John Sood. The concert is a fund-raiser for their February trip to Honduras. The tickets are $5 and are available at the door. There will also be a raffle wth 6 tickets for $5 and multiple prizes.

George Libby visited his mother, Beulah Mason and her husband, Wes Mason, over the Columbus Day weekend. While here he also spent time with his sister, Darlene, and her family.
Helping
Jacob Barto, a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy, is an engineer on a supply ship helping the people of Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. He is the grandson of Betty Barto. Jacob says it is very hot down there.
Fair
The Christmas Fair sponsored by the Rebekah Lodge will be October 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall. Marge Hansen will also be having a homemade quilt sale upstairs at the same time.
Museum
The Old Grocery Museum run by the Windham Historical Society is open Thursday mornings. It is located across from Corsetti’s. There are many displays of old time tools, furniture, shoemaking equipment, toys, etc.
Library Display
The lithographs and sketches by native Maine artist, Jean Brush Hill, will only be on display at the Windham Public Library until the end of the month. You should plan to stop by to see these wonderful prints and drawings.
Champion
At the Cumberland Fair, Alan O’Brien had the 4-H Grand Champion of the Ayrshire Breed. He also took six 1st places and two 2nd places in the open. At the Fryeburg Fair he took 3rd place in the 4-H Showmanship out of 16 participants and did average with his other entries.
