Hockey anyone?

The Bonny Eagle Ice Hockey Association along with the Standish Kiwanis Club and Standish Recreation are hosting the Second Annual Southern Maine Pond Hockey Tournament Jan. 24-25.

Located at Kiwanis Beach on Route 25, the event is modeled after the World Pond Hockey Tournament held in Canada, and will consist of two days of play, bragging rights, and good old fashion fun.

The two day tournament consists of 4-on-4 play with modified nets and no goalies. Each team is guaranteed three games. There are three divisions entrants can join; co-ed recreational, co-ed competitive, and women’s.

The Standish Kiwanis Club will provide a warming hut and use of the clubhouse for registration. Concessions will be provided by Standish Recreation.

The cost is $250 per team, or $50 per individual. All proceeds from the two-day event will benefit the Bonny Eagle Ice Hockey Association, the Kiwanis Club and Standish recreation.
