Key concern: After losing nine seniors from last year, coming up with more scorers on this team.

Coach’s outlook: We’d love to get back to the state championship game, play Skowhegan and win this time. We have a lot of new kids and they’ve already come together as a team. They are a good bunch and work very hard.

Key veterans: John Wiechman, Mike O’Donnell, Neil Patnaude, Chase Murray, Ben Delcourt, Nick Davis, Brett Cartwright, Charlie Butler, Spencer Dunzik, Mason Tripp, Stanley Watts, Anthony Atkins.

Key newcomers: Chris Auger, Erik Hanson

Key concern: We need to handle every team gunning for us because we are the defending champs. We can’t be satisfied because we won it last year. We need to be just as hungry and get up week in and week out because our opponents will be looking to knock us off.

Coach’s outlook: We think we have the talent to repeat. We are not the finished product we were last year at this time. There is still a lot of growth this team needs before we can repeat, but the talent is there.

How did last season end:

Key newcomers: Tyler Shortsleeve, Tyler Fox, Brian Butler, Richie Harvey, Khamla Mickelson, Tim Grovo, Kevin Frost, Jamie Ruginski.

Key concern: The team needs to develop depth and avoid injuries. Also a concern are size match-ups and minimizing the typical “young team” mistakes (only two seniors and four juniors on the team).

Coach’s outlook: Neal: “The Scots will need to play an aggressive, high pressure defense and an up and down style offense…They have been very eager to learn, have demonstrated good team chemistry and shown a resilience that is uncommon in younger squads.” Bourget: “We’re very young but we hope to be competitive. Attitude has been excellent so far.”
