Highlight “Highlights of the season were the tie-breaking doubles’ match against McAuley, where Sally Patterson and Molly Stelmack won in three sets, to give us the win, 3-2, and lots of Heal points. Another long three-setter was Libby Johnston’s singles match against Deering, where she lost the first set, was down love-30, 2-5, in the second and came back to win that set, 7-5, and then won the third, 6-0.”

Seniors Molly Stelmack, Charlotte Stuart and Bethany Straw.

Awards Coach’s Award: Kelsey Wilson; Most Improved: Libby Johnston; Senior: Bethany Straw

Coach’s Comment “The best part of the season, for me as the coach, was to be competitive in every match and not have the lop-sided matches that we had in “B” tennis, where we would lose 0-5. I love having a fairly even playing field, where it is up to the girls’ ability to be flexible, adapt to different players and be mentally tough.”

With a strong group of returnees, Gorham should be able to contend next year with such top class A teams as Scarborough and Thornton Academy.”
