Estes 60th Anniversary
Paul and Betty Estes of West Baldwin celebrated their 60th anniversary Dec. 12. There was a party for them, given by their children Joanne Weatherby and Stephen Estes, Dec. 9 at Thatcher’s Restaurant. Their granddaughter, Sue Day, put together a great slide show of family photos. The party was attended by 40 family members and friends. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and camaraderie. Lew and Joanne Weatherby, Gray Road, celebrated their 10th anniversary Dec. 5.
Windham Food Pantry
This is a reminder to Windham residents that the Toy Workshop will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. They must have already completed an application to participate. The pantry will also give out Christmas dinners to Windham residents on Dec. 20 from 1-3 p.m. Residents must have also completed an application to receive a dinner. Any questions can be directed to Madeline Roberts at 892-1931.
Due to long lines on Monday nights scheduled times have been set to pick up food. If the last name starts with A-H pick up is from 5:30-6 p.m.; I-P will pick up from 6:00-6:30 p.m.; and Q-Z will pick up from 6:30-7 p.m.
The pantry is in need of gifts for teens – gift cards, inexpensive watches, hair and nail products and anything appropriate for this age for both genders. The clothes closet is in need of gently used children’s boots for the winter. If anyone wishes to donate boots, call the above number or drop them off at the Family Resource Center.
Family Home for Holidays
Darin and Dinah Aldrich had all their kids home for the Thanksgiving holiday: Madison and Logan, Tyler from Boston and Bradi from St. Anselm College. They spent three days with other family members eating, sleeping and playing games. “It was great,” they report.
Veterans Christmas Party Update
Due to the hard work of Donna Chapman and the Operation Homefront program, they are happy to announce that the Veterans Christmas Party at the Windham Veterans Center on Dec. 16 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. has been expanded to include all veterans and their families in the greater Windham area. Bring the children and join them for some great Christmas entertainment provided by singer Gloria Jean, presents for everyone distributed by Santa, and some great Christmas refreshments.
The veterans center is located behind the Windham Mall. They hope to see you and your family at this first annual Windham Area Veterans Christmas Party.
Happy Birthday
Bruce LeClaire of Brookhaven, celebrated his 60th birthday Nov. 30. A group of family and friends helped him celebrate this big occasion at his home.
Meeting
The Lakes Region Shriners will meet Dec. 18 at Thatcher’s Restaurant. The social hour will be at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. Shriners will not have a speaker this meeting, instead they will have a Yankee swap of gifts.
New Baby Girl
Kevin and Melissa Bailey are proud parents of a baby girl, Aubrey Rose Bailey, born Nov. 29 at Maine Medical Center. She weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces and was 19 inches long. She has a very happy and excited older sister, Cassidy, who will turn 5 years old the day after Christmas.
Meeting
Members of the Rebekah Lodge No. 71 will meet Dec. 19 at the Odd Fellows Hall at 7:30 p.m. This will be their Christmas party. Josie Morrell is in charge of refreshments.
