Turkey time
Is it me, or has there been a lot fewer turkeys roaming the Lake Region? All summer I’ve seen groups of eight to 10 turkeys as I drove up and down Lake House and King Hill roads in Naples. Do you think they know? Not being a hunter myself, a little investigation led me to the following information: Yes, there was just a wild turkey hunting season in our district (Naples is in Wildlife Management District 15) with a two-turkey bag limit (one per sex). Some districts have a one-turkey limit, some districts were not allowed to hunt during this fall turkey hunting season. I’m guessing it was a successful season. Mystery solved?

Free sandwiches will also be available. Proceeds go to the Franklin Graham Shoe Box. Included at the event will be a homemade bake sale. Hats and mittens will also be sale.
Art opportunity
Are you creative? Looking for new ways to express yourself? You’re invited on Nov. 18 to join the Art Club at the Lake Region High School to create a set of Artist Trading Cards from 2:15-4 p.m. in the Lake Region High School art room, Room 223. They can be drawn, collaged, painted, stamped, sewn and more!
On Dec. 2, the Art Club hosts a trade at 3 p.m. Students, staff, and community members are invited to participate! Make and bring six or more cards to trade with other artists (one of your cards will be traded with Mrs. Carlson.) See Mrs. Carlson at Lake Region High School if you need suggestions or have questions!

Just in time for Thanksgiving the Naples Public Library is hosting a don’t cry about pie (dough, that is) on Nov. 21, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon.
