Yard Sale – Inside
Windham Historical Society will hold an Indoor Yard Sale on Saturday, April 11, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on the second floor of the old Grange Hall at 46 Lotts Drive and Route 302 near the rotary.
Parking in the rear. There is a handicapped ramp. There are wonderful treasures: braided rugs, a spinning wheel, chests of drawers, small tables, books, dishes, c. 1940 metal top kitchen table, records, china tea cups, a roll top desk, etc. Donations of items still accepted. Call 650-7484. Proceeds will benefit the Windham Historical Society’s Village Green.
Lunch at Unity Gardens
The April luncheon at Windham Community Cafe?, Unity Gardens on Tandberg Trail will be held at noon on Thursday, April 16. The menu includes pot roast, mashed potato, gravy, vegetable, roll and dessert. Call Virginia at 892-3891 by April 13 to make reservations.
The program will be Jane Margesson, AARP Maine Communication Director and Windham Police Officer Matt Cyr, presenting an AARP Fraud Prevention Workshop. Learn how to be a fraud fighter and protect yourself from scams.
Vietnam War 50th Anniversary
This is an open invitation to all Vietnam veterans who served in-country during the conflict to contact Field-Allen Post 148 Americanism Officer Rodney Voisine. King’s Pines at Library
Learn all about the “King’s Pines” at Windham Public Library on Saturday, April 4, at 9:30 p.m. The program, The King’s Pine: Colonial Mast Trade and the Seeds of Rebellion is a production of Windham Historical Society.
Dancing with the Staff
The finale of “Dancing with the Staff” will be on Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. at Windham Performing Arts Center. The event supports Project Graduation 2015. Tickets are available at all RSU 14 schools. Adults are $10 and students are $5. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. This event is always a sellout, so plan to purchase your tickets now.
Medicare Aid
On Tuesdays, April 7 and 21, the Southern Maine Agency on Aging will offer Medicare help in the Lakes Region at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 919 Roosevelt Trail, Windham.
A “Welcome to Medicare” seminar is scheduled from 10 a.m.-noon. In addition to the seminar, there will be one-on-one counseling with volunteer Medicare advocates available from 9 a.m. until noon. Call the Southern Maine Agency on Aging to register for the seminar or to make a one-on-one appointment with a Medicare advocate at 396-6500 or 1-800-427-7411. Seminar walk-ins can usually be accommodated. Further opportunities for these services will occur at the same location in May.
