PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. — Hikers from across the country are convening on Mount Washington for the 12th annual Seek the Peak Hike-a-Thon.

More than 500 hikers are expected to make a bid today for the summit, which is 6,288 feet.

The hikers are raising money for the nonprofit Mount Washington Observatory.

Hikers may ascend the peak on the trail of their choice.
