SOUTH PORTLAND — The city’s $49 million school budget passed overwhelmingly, 905 votes to 283.

Out of more than 20,000 registered voters, less than 1,200, or 5.9 percent, cast their ballot.

Portland Water District Board of Trustee candidate Matthew D. Beck was elected with 987 votes. Beck ran unopposed for the South Portland-Cape Elizabeth seat.
