WOOLWICH — Marjorie Louise MacDonald, 87 died Feb. 28 at Winship Green Nursing Home in Bath.
She was born in Bath on Jan. 2, 1922, a daughter of Ralph C. Achorn and Bernice (Norton) Day.
In 1939, she graduated from Morse High School.
On July 29, 1950, she married Kenneth F. MacDonald.
For 27 years, she worked at Bath Water District, retiring as the office manager.
As a life-long active member of the Corliss Street Baptist Church, she held numerous positions, including serving as the church treasurer for 15 years.
She was also active in the community, formerly serving as a director at the Bath YMCA and volunteering with the Woolwich Historical Society, where she enjoyed dressing in period costumes and acting as a tour guide.
She is predeceased by her brother, Ralph Achorn, her grandson, Kenneth Brown and a great-granddaughter, Ashley MacDonald.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Kenneth; children, Cynthia Brown of Edgecomb, Paul MacDonald of Oregon, and Marilyn Smith of Bath; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a nephew, Robert Achorn of Massachusetts and a niece Jeanne Fickett of Florida.
Memorial services were held earlier this week.
