SCARBOROUGH — Ronald Edward Gochie, 72, died Aug. 2.
He was born on May 7, 1937, and attended Scarborough schools.
He worked for Scarborough Public Works until his retirement.
With his wife of 47 years, Barbara Ann, he traveled to Arizona in their motor home. Arizona seemed to be a part of him, and it was an adventure they truly loved.
In 1997, they moved back to Maine.
His interests included hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his time at the family riverside camp in Homestead.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Gochie; his three children, Ronald Scott Gochie, Terry Edward Gochie and his wife Susan, Holly Marie Gochie Beaulieu and her husband Kelly; his brother, James Gochie and his wife Ester, four sisters, Florence and her husband Babe, Dorothy and her husband Robert, Rosie Webber and her husband Gil, and Nancy and her husband Ivan; brother-in-law Raymond and wife Jaye, and two sisters-in-law Linda Smith, and Sandra Darling and her husband Herbert; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Thursday, Aug. 6
Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough.
