HIGH SCHOOLS

CHEVERUS-THORNTON FOOTBALL: Cheverus will sell tickets for Saturday’s Western Class A football final with Thornton Academy on Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Loyola Hall.

BASKETBALL CLINIC: Basketball coaches Bob Brown, Phil Conley, Mike Giordano and Kevin Millington will lead a clinic in fundamentals Friday night at the South Portland Recreation Center.

The clinic, hosted by the South Portland boys and girls basketball teams, is in support of Paul Gorham — a former three-sport athlete at South Portland High and also a football coach at Sacred Heart University — who is recovering from a double-lung transplant.

The session for boys and girls in grades 3 and 4 runs from 5 to 6 p.m., grades 5 and 6 from 6:15 to 7:15 and grades 7 and 8 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. A $10 donation is requested.
