Voters in the Gray and New Gloucester school district approved spending $94,000 to purchase a parcel of land adjoining the Gray-New Gloucester High School and to conduct a study to determine its use.

The vote in New Gloucester was 1,978 to 1,083. Voters in Gray also approved the spending. The vote in Gray was 2,988 to 1,492.

To spend the money, the district needed more than 50 percent of the total vote from both towns.

SAD 15 asked to spend $79,000 to buy 28.5 acres next to the high school and to spend an additional  $15,000 to study the facilities and land needs of the district.
