12/31 at 11:46 p.m. Ryan A. Diehl, 23, of Pleasant Avenue, Portland, was arrested on Route 1 by Officer Michael Pierce on a charge of operating under the influence.

12/31 at 6:19 p.m. A 17-year-old boy of Freeport was issued a summons by Officer Michael Pierce on Route 1 on charges of minor having liquor on person and a minor giving false age to order liquor.

New year, new mailbox

12/29 at 2:59 p.m. Police were notified of a black Volvo that, according to reports, “wiped out” a mailbox on Oakwood Drive. Police could not locate the vehicle.
