SOUTH BERWICK — Isaac LaCroix scored 24 points Wednesday night to lead seventh-seeded Seacoast Christian to a 57-48 victory against 10th-ranked Buckfield in a Western Class D schoolboy basketball prelim.

The Guardians (11-8) will meet second-seeded Hyde in a quarterfinal at 10 a.m. Saturday at Augusta. Buckfield finished 5-12.

WISCASSET 66, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 59: The eighth-ranked Wolverines (11-8) put up 23 points in the fourth quarter to nip ninth-seeded Old Orchard Beach (12-6) in a Western Class C prelim at Wiscasset.

Joey Gildard scored a career-high 27 points for the Seagulls.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 55, POLAND 37: Julia Quinn made nine free throws as the seven-seeded Raiders (12-7) went 17 of 24 from the line in the fourth quarter to beat 10th-seeded Poland (9-10) in a Western Class B prelim at Fryeburg.

The Raiders will meet second-seeded Spruce Mountain at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Expo.

YORK 68, OAK HILL 44: Shannon Todd scored 20 points and Paige McElwain added 17 to lead the ninth-seeded Wildcats (12-7) past the eighth-seeded Raiders (14-5) in a Western Class B prelim at Wales.

York will play top-ranked Lake Region in a quarterfinal at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Expo.

ST. DOMINIC 3, BRUNSWICK 2: Chase Hainey scored 3:58 into overtime as St. Dominic (9-6-1) edged Brunswick (8-7-1) at Auburn.

YARMOUTH 5, GREELY 2: Patrick Grant had three goals to lead Yarmouth (9-5-1) over the Rangers (7-6-3) at Falmouth.
