A Glenburn man was arrested Tuesday and charged with manslaughter in the death of a passenger in a car he crashed May 6.

James McBride, 44, was intoxicated when he crashed a car he was driving on Route 221 in Hudson, police said. Mark Allard, 43, of Glenburn died in the crash.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office concluded its investigation this week and charged McBride with manslaughter, a Class A felony, aggravated operating under the influence and aggravated driving to endanger.

McBride is being held at Penobscot County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
