Olivia Tighe

Olivia Tighe, Cape Elizabeth swimming: A junior, Tighe was named Performer of the Meet for the second straight year, helping the Capers win the Class B swimming state meet. She won the 100-yard freestyle in 50.23 seconds to set state and Bowdoin College pool records. She also anchored the 200 free relay to a state-record 1:36.20, anchored the 400 free relay to victory and won the 500 free by 25 seconds in 5:03.21.

HONORABLE MENTION

Emma Gallant, Cheverus track and field: The sophomore won the 200 (25.94) and the 400 (57.80), and was second in the 55 (7.34) at the Class A meet. Her time in the 400 broke the 10-year-old Class A record of 57.88. Gallant’s 28 points helped Cheverus to a title tie with Scarborough.

Mackenzie Holmes, Gorham basketball: The junior helped the No. 5 Rams back to the Class AA South final. She had 21 points, 17 rebounds and five blocked shots in a 63-37 quarterfinal win over Maine Girls’ Academy, and 20 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots in a 53-42 upset of No. 1 South Portland.

Hannah Griffin, Scarborough swimming: A senior, Griffin set two school marks at the Class A meet. She won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.58 and was second in the 50 free (26.03) to help her team to second place. She also anchored a winning 400 free relay.

Jarett Flaker

Jarett Flaker, Scarborough track and field: A sophomore, Flaker broke the Class A record in the 55 (6.50) and the 200 (22.32), and his 200 time broke the Maine record at the Class A state track and field championships at the University of Southern Maine. He also won the 400 in 49.87 to score 30 points and lift Scarborough to the Class A title with 79 points.

HONORABLE MENTION

Liam Coomey, Marshwood wrestling: Competing in the 126-pound class, Coomey beat both the North and South regional champions on his way to the Class A state title. His efforts were an important part of Marshwood winning its sixth Class A title in seven seasons.

Killian Lathrop, Cape Elizabeth Alpine skiing: A sophomore, Lathrop won the individual slalom title over a field of 78 to lead the Capers to the Class B Alpine state championship at Big Rock in Mars Hill. Lathrop also placed fourth in Monday’s giant slalom.

Brim Peabody, Cheverus swimming: A freshman, Peabody won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle races to lead the Stags to a sixth straight Class A title. He rallied to win the 200 by three-hundredths of a second in 1:43.78 and pulled away in the 500 by 16 seconds in 4:47.41. He also swam on the winning 400 free relay and the runner-up 200 free relay.
