On Monday, the Press Herald sports section printed the week’s list of the nation’s best Division I college football teams (Page B2). And, once again, of the 35 or so teams listed, not one hails from New England, New York (except for West Point) or New Jersey, despite the plethora of colleges in these states.

Thankfully, colleges in our corner of the country seem more committed to developing their athletes’ minds than to damaging them.
