Meet the team

Erica Nitschke is an assistant digital editor with the Maine Trust for Local News. She came to Maine from the upper Great Plains in 2017 to work for the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel, designing and editing for the print newspapers and centralmaine.com. In 2019, she moved to the Portland Press Herald print team and eventually onto the digital desk for pressherald.com, centralmaine.com and sunjournal.com.

Tyler Wells Lynch is an assistant digital editor with the Maine Trust for Local News. A graduate of Syracuse University, Tyler cut his teeth as a tech reporter, writing for publications like Reviewed and Wirecutter. He eventually broke into freelance reporting covering environmental law, public transportation, and, occasionally, culture. His bylines have appeared in The New York Times, Maine Magazine, Vice, USA Today, HuffPost, the Sierra Club, and Yes! Magazine, among others.
