A Lincoln County man was sentenced Tuesday to nearly eight years in federal prison for illegal possession of a firearm, U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II said.
Daniel Colby, 34, of Wiscasset, a convicted felon, was found guilty in June following a two-day jury trial.
In federal court in Portland, U.S. District Judge George Z. Singal sentenced Colby to a prison term of 95 months.
According to court records and trial evidence, Colby broke into the home of a neighbor on March 17, 2015, armed with a stolen .38-caliber revolver and threatened the neighbor. Colby had been previously convicted of multiple felonies. The revolver was later recovered from Colby’s property in Wiscasset.
