BIDDEFORD — Armand Uomoleale scored the tiebreaking goal Thursday night and the University of New England went on to a 6-4 victory against Nichols in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game.
Uomoleale’s goal broke a 4-4 tie with 3:04 remaining.
Trevor Fleurent finished with three goals and two assists for UNE (1-1-1, 1-1-1 CCC), and became the school’s career leader in goals and points.
Brady Fleurent added two goals and three assists against the Bison (3-1, 2-1), who held a 3-1 advantage in the second period.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
MAINE: Kelly Fogarty, a 5-foot-9 guard from Walpole, Massachusetts, signed a letter of intent to join the Black Bears next season.
Fogarty, who averaged 16 points and six rebounds as a high school junior, is a two-time first-team Bay State League all-star.

DUKE 28, (15) NORTH CAROLINA 27: Daniel Jones ran for two scores and threw for another to help Duke (4-6, 1-5 Atlantic Coast) upset North Carolina (7-3, 5-2) at Durham, North Carolina.
Jones, a redshirt freshman, gave the defense fits all night with his mobility for the Blue Devils, running for 94 yards as part of a ground game that kept moving the chains against the Tar Heels. Shaun Wilson ran for a game-high 107 yards and a score of his own, Duke finished with 227 yards rushing and converted 10 of 17 third-down chances.
KENTUCKY: Sophomore quarterback Drew Barker will undergo back surgery the week of Thanksgiving and miss the remainder of this season.
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL: The girlfriend of tight end Jonnu Smith is facing a felony aggravated battery charge after police say she poured boiling water on him during an argument.
FRESNO STATE: Jeff Tedford, a former California coach, was hired to take over a struggling program.
