Loke Johansson, a 19-year-old defenseman from Sweden, was recalled Monday by the Providence Bruins of the AHL after starting the season with the Maine Mariners.
Johansson, who was selected by the parent Boston Bruins in the sixth round of the 2024 draft and 186th overall, played nine games with the Mariners, with two assists and a plus-5 rating.
The Mariners will be on the road Friday and Saturday against the Wheeling Nailers, then return Nov. 23 to take on the Norfolk Admirals.
Also Monday, the Mariners signed defenseman Andrew Nielsen, who has played more than 400 pro games, most recently in Sweden, since being selected by Toronto in the third round of the 2015 draft.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
