Jean C. Willett
YARMOUTH – On Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, Jean C. Willett, loving wife and mother of three, passed away at the age of 82.
Born on Sept. 21, 1943 to James and Teresa Lombardo, she grew up alongside her sister and brother, Debra and Jim. She attended school in Portland before marrying her high school sweetheart, Michael J. Willett on Sept. 5, 1964.
In the early years of her professional career, Jean worked as a hairdresser and at the department store, Porteous. She later spent the majority of her career as a credit manager with Union Oil Company.
Jean loved to garden, cook and host gatherings at her house. As a member of the Italian Heritage Center, she enjoyed gathering with friends and family for trivia and karaoke. She was caring, giving, patient, generous and always welcomed others with open arms. Above all, she was a loving grandmother who always looked forward to spending time with her grandkids.
One memory her family will always cherish were Thursday night dinners that Jean and Mike would host. It was an open door policy where all were welcome. Jean made sure there was always plenty of food. The second you walked through the door, you could always count on her greeting you with a warm smile and hug, no matter if you had known her for years or if it was your first time meeting her.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; and grandson, Eric.
She is survived by her daughter, Deb Coons and husband Paul Coons, daughter, Denise Orr and husband Thomas Orr, son, Michael Willett and wife Sarah Rouleau; sister, Debra Swasey and husband Brian Swasey, brother, Jim Lombardo and wife Jenn Perry Lombardo; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Coastal Manor in Yarmouth for their care and support.
A visitation will take place at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland ME 04103 on Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a Memorial Service starting at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A reception will follow at Bruno’s Restaurant and Tavern.
