Gorham Town Council will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, in the board’s chambers at the Municipal Center, 75 South St.
The newly elected town councilors will be sworn in following a reorganizational meeting at 6 p.m. to fill board leadership.
Its regular monthly meeting, normally scheduled on the first Tuesday, was pushed ahead to Nov. 18 because of Election Day and Tuesday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day.
Historical society adds elected posts
Suzanne Phillips, president of Gorham Historical Society, said Tuesday it added new positions at its annual meeting on Nov. 2.
Cori Buzzell was added as secretary for marketing and memberships in addition to Ron and Deb Shepard to the Scholarship Review Committee.
Triad reminder
The Gorham, Westbrook and Windham Triad will meet at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Gorham Police Department, 270 Main St., Gorham. Kathy Damon, of Home Instead, will be the featured speaker.
Triad is a collaboration of law enforcement, businesses and civic groups that promote safety and well-being of senior citizens.
50 years ago
The American Journal reported on Nov. 5, 1975, that Gorham Historical Society elected Charles Parker as president; Mrs. Raymond Phinney, vice president; Mrs. Clifford Nelson, secretary; Thomas Owens, treasurer; and Mrs. Audway Treworgy, auditor.
