Biddeford residents voted in favor of a Charter Commission on Tuesday, with 3,457 in favor and 2,305 against.

The Charter Commission will be tasked with reviewing and potentially revising the Biddeford City Charter, which is used as the city’s central governing document.

In June 2026, voters will be asked to vote again on the matter, appointing seven of the nine members. The other two members will be appointed by the mayor.
