
Historians to hear Sanphy
Former Mayor Michael Sanphy will speak about what happened and why to landmarks, buildings and houses when the historical society meets at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, in the Oak Room at the Community Center, 426 Bridge St.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
Legion Post 62 to meet
Rudy Clark, electrical technology instructor at Westbrook Regional Vocational Center, will speak when American Legion Post 62 meets on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at its headquarters on Dunn Street.
A dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m., preceding Clark at 6:30 p.m. Several students will accompany Clark to describe the training and skills they are learning in the electrical technology classes.
A business meeting will follow Clark’s presentation.
Free meal for veterans
A veterans free spaghetti lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.
The meal will include pasta, salad, bread and cookies, sponsored by Woodfords Family Services. RSVP to Shunt@woodfords.org.

The American Journal reported on Oct. 29, 1975, that Edward Jensen and his wife were to be hosts for the Sunday service at Westbrook Universalist Church.
