A Brunswick man has been charged with manslaughter and operating under the influence after his vehicle struck a bicyclist Monday night in Brunswick.

The bicyclist, 23-year-old Silas Octavi Esquival Perez of Brunswick, died at the scene of the crash on Old Bath Road near the Route 1 overpass, according to Brunswick police.

Police say the driver of the car, Lance Lucas-Wallace, 41, of Brunswick, initially left the scene, but later returned. He was arrested and charged with manslaughter, aggravated leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and operating under the influence involving death.

His bail was set at $10,000 and he was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
