Linwood E. Burnham
SCARBOROUGH – Linwood E. Burnham, 93, died peacefully on Oct. 11, 2025. He was born in Portland, son to the late Walter G. Burnham and Elmie (Hansen) Burnham.
Linwood was a graduate of Deering High School in 1949, proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. After his discharge from the Army in 1954, he managed the body shop at Rowe Motors for several years before embarking on a 29-year career at Maine Bonding and Casualty Company. He was a past Master of Deering Lodge of Masons, a member of the Scottish Rite bodies of Masons, and a 32nd degree Mason.
In his spare time, Linwood enjoyed woodworking, repairing bicycles, playing pool, doing puzzles, antique automobiles, boating, and spending summers at their cottage.
Linwood was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary G. Burnham. They resided in Portland until moving to Piper Shores in Scarborough upon it’s opening in 2001.
Family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff at Piper Shores who cared for him.
A private service was held at Highland Cemetery in Limerick.
