Brynn Folger recorded 29 assists, Nellie Young had 14 kills and Julia Sudol finished with six blocks as seventh-seeded Marshwood swept 10th-seeded South Portland in a Class A volleyball preliminary round match Thursday, advancing to the quarterfinals with a 25-19, 25-11, 25-16 victory in South Berwick.
Riley Phipps added 14 digs and nine kills as the Hawks (10-5) advanced to play Cheverus/Waynflete on Saturday.
South Portland ends its season with a 9-6 record.
