WEST BATH – William Kevin Callahan, 61, of West Bath, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025.

Bill was the youngest of six children born to John “Bud” Callahan and Margaret Sabol Callahan on Nov. 16, 1963, in New Haven, Conn. At the age-of-9, he moved to Edgecomb, with his family.

Bill was bright, intelligent, had a huge heart and the best sense of humor. His witticism made people laugh right up until the end. If you’ve heard, “strong like bull, smart like tractor,” you or someone you know has probably had the pleasure of meeting Bill.

Bill’s intellect allowed him the opportunity to travel and work in various positions which led to him meeting his dear friend and companion, Emily DeRosier and her children Melinda, Richard and Chris. As they grew older and started their families, they and their children brought the gift of love, laughter and pride into his world. They were the strong hold in his life and his heart. His family, his foundation.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret, his brothers Thomas and Matthew and his sister Marykate.

He is survived by his remaining two siblings, John Callahan Jr. and his wife Diane, and his sister Elizabeth Callahan. Bill is also survived by his many nieces Amy, Jessica, Kaitlin, Jocelyn, Amanda, Brooke and nephew Spencer and their families. Lastly, Bill is survived by his companion, Emily, her children, and their families, Melinda, Lacey, Dana, Richard, Arianna, Chris, Ashley, Lily and Izzy and his best friends Jimmy and Brian.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donations to The Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, in thanks for the comfort they provided Bill and his loved ones before his journey home
