Westbrook Mayor David Morse is unopposed next month to retain his seat. Voters will choose four city councilors and three for the School Committee. There are no local referendums in the municipal balloting.
Westbrook polls will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St. Absentee balloting is ongoing and available weekdays at 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the large conference room at City Hall, 2 York St.
“We will have extended hours for absentee voting on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” City Clerk Ellis Ledoux said Tuesday. “We have just hit over 1,000 absentee requests as of this morning.”
Westbrook could have some new faces on the City Council as races in Ward 1 and the at-large seat are contested. Dustin Sleight is challenging incumbent Brian McCambridge in Ward 1 and Gary Rairdon, a former city councilor, is facing Elizabeth McLellan in the run for the at-large seat.
Incumbents Victor Chau, in Ward 2, and Jennifer Munro, Ward 5, are running unopposed for the seven-member City Council.
For the School Committee, incumbents Noreen Poitras, Ward 3, and Andrea Mancuso, Ward 4, are also unopposed and no candidate qualified for an at-large seat in the nomination process and there is no name on the ballot.
All seats are three-year terms.
