CARTHAGE, N.C. – Dorothy Ann Small, 88, of Carthage, N.C. died Oct. 7, 2025. Dorothy was born in Bowdoinham, Maine Aug. 22, 1937, daughter of William and Bertha Small.
A graduate of North Yarmouth Academy class of 1955. She spent her entire career working for UNUM Life Insurance Company retiring in 1997. She relocated to North Carolina in 2006 to enjoy the sunshine and warm winters.
A lifelong animal lover and avid gardener Moore County was the perfect fit for her. She volunteered at the Moore County Animal Shelter for many years and folks there still remember her homemade chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Boody and her husband Jeff of Carthage, N.C., Kelly Wentworth-Lowe and her husband Danny of Yarmouth; granddaughter, Amanda and husband Ryan Ravanelle of Yarmouth, grandson, Phillip Lowe and wife Kristen of North Yarmouth; great-grandsons Abram Ravanelle, Reid Ravanelle and Owen Lowe.
