Patricia Ruth Duffy Sprackland
BRIDGTON – Patricia Ruth Duffy Sprackland of Bridgton, Maine, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 4, 1931, Pat met Harry Sprackland, at a high school dance in Collingswood, N.J. They married on April 7, 1951, and made their first home in Camden, eventually moving to Medford Lakes, NJ. Together they raised four children: The late Steve Sprackland (Liz), Janis Sprackland Power (William), Mark Sprackland (Kathy), and Susan Sprackland Wyman (David).
In 1970, the family moved to South Portland, Maine, where they discovered a love of lake life with the help of dear friends Dr. John and Mery Burke. Bridgton soon became their full-time home, with Highland Lake at the center of family gatherings and memories.
Over the next 40 years, Pat and Harry’s family grew to include 11 grandchildren—Jeff Power (Alison), Kristin Garner (Roger), Michael Power (Jessica), Nicole Sprackland Blanks (Rev. Samuel), Sage Sprackland, Brook Sprackland, Abby Sprackland (fiancé Sean Dolan), Sean Wyman (fiancé Samiera MacMullen), Nathan Sprackland, Sam Wyman (fiancé Erin Gray), and Colby Wyman—and seven great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
After losing Harry in 2005, Pat leaned on her family, friends, and church community at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bridgton. She filled her days with reading, knitting, bridge, and gardening. Her home was always warm and welcoming—with walking shoes by the door, a hearty meal on the table, and love in abundance.
Pat will be deeply missed as the cherished matriarch of the Sprackland family. Though humble in spirit, she was admired and respected by many. Her servant heart and
unwavering love will continue to shine through the lives of all who knew her.
Rest in peace—Mom, Gigi, Pat. Your love showed us the way.
A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, October 18 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bridgton, ME at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Forrest Hill Cemetery.
